“…a visual narrative celebrating First Nations culture through artful design and ethical craftsmanship.”
Each garment was inspired by our Stomping Ground’s never-ending palette of colour and pattern.”

Everything felt lovely.
Lovelier still to see a separate show. We haven’t reported on fashion week since 2021.
Designers of First Nations origin showed in separate groups back then. Their choice, their alliances.
Communities that get marginalised get fragmented, forced to unite through mutual goal rather than outlook.
Separating those who should have common unity…. is standard construct Mode-us [haha] Operandi.
AFC / AFW loves celebrating First Nations designers now. A bit behind the times.
The legendary @pacificrunway [a commercial platform for Pacific Creatives which was described by an expat ex vague mag sustainability Princess Karen as “cultural entertainment” and “you people are never happy” when asked to correct GLARING racist mistakes in her vague article] had been inviting First Nations labels to open the show years before it was trendy to acknowledge the people you suppress.
It’s cool to see designers of First Nations origin getting their own floor time on Land in Australia instead of showing in groups. Both collective groups had different design ethos designers.
The shows in 2021 [and ’22 ’23 ’24] were also open to the public and…”diverse” [a truly insane view of of an ALREADY DIVERSE world. Skinsularity is a disease. You may quote me.]
A cynic would say it was Lip Service for Cash. Post pandemic the coffers were empty but wallets were full and people wanted to be seen.
Representation parity has to MOST IMPORTANTLY happen behind the scenes, not on runways.
Otherwise it’s optical delusion.

I’m a triumph of the construct. A multiskilled, multicultural, multi societal, multi lingual result of your ‘experiments’. Forget that white Asian girl’s movie. I am Frankenstein.
Not Frankenstein’s monster, you poor things.
