Often cited as a favourite model by her peers, Jorja was the hair chameleon and star of the 2018 and 2019 runways in Fiji, as well as being the first model from Fiji on the cover of an Australian magazine! Wait. not one, but TWO! The magazine team couldn’t choose so they did a first and went for two covers of the same issue.
25yo Jorja is in Sydney in her final year of University doing a Bachelor of Arts in Media and Theatre. She recently put her acting career dream on hold to explore a career in hospitality and events, which she says, “I have come to love.”
Traps Bar in the 80s. I want to see what my mum is raving about.
2. What are you most grateful for?
I am always grateful for my family; the opportunities they’ve provided and supported me with, and
3. What’s making you angry right now?
The fucking overturning of Roe vs Wade in the United States, but just anywhere that doesn’t support pro-choice. (“Can I swear?” “Yes.”)
4. What would you change if you could?
Conservative white men from the Stone Age being in charge of making national decisions.
5. What colour would you use to describe yourself?
Lilac!
6. If you could eat only one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
A great chicken dosa
7. What do you to relax?
I open a bottle of wine, find a lengthy recipe, spend the day making said lengthy recipe with music or a binge worthy tv show in the background.
8. What is the craziest thing you have ever done (so far)?
The first thing that comes to mind is jumping off a 9 metre cliff into a pool of water in a forest. I did not enjoy it.
9. What’s your idea of a perfect holiday?
Traipsing through Europe, experiencing history and culture. Even better if it’s in stunning hotel rooms (I love a good hotel room after a long day).
10. Do you have tattoos? Do they mean anything? If you don’t have tattoos, would you ever get one?
I have two tattoos (so far, sorry mum and dad) – one is from the cover of the book To Kill A Mockingbird on my ankle that I got on a whim when my friend was getting hers done.
There’s a lot of meaning behind the book itself, but it gets mistaken for a chicken a lot and now I see it as “not everyone sees things the way you do”.
I also have a cat peering through a champagne glass on the back of my arm because it just delights me. Who doesn’t love cats and champagne?!
11. What is your signature style?
Daytime would be jeans and converse (I plan to have a walk-in wardrobe of converse shoes one day) but if I was invited to fancy events every single night I would describe it as in regal gowns and various heels.
12. Fashion is …………………………………………. daydreams come to life.
